Disney’s animated feature
film ‘Frozen’ has won Oscars for best animated feature and best song, and has also
grossed worldwide more than 1.2 billion. (2014, Malec, b). Margita Thompson, as
quoted by in (2014, Lynskey, D) stated that ‘[The amount of frozen merchandise
that sold] truly exceeded expectation on every level’. For this reason, I believe
its arguable that Disney’s films ‘Frozen’ success, there is a sense of
popularity with in the character ‘Elsa’ within audience members.
There is a variety of possible
reasoning’s to possibly why Elsa is a character that we, the audience, can
empathise with. For example; semiotics, colour theory, relatability, archetypes-
can manipulate audiences to like a character, remember them and even so
emotionally identify with them.
